Bio

The Hamburg-based singer-songwriter Kati founded her solo project Kati’s Basement in 2009.

After many years of stage experience as a classical solo soprano and front woman of the band Klen-Dathu, she released her first solo EP, The Basement of the Soul, a collection of intimate, melancholic acoustic songs.
She is accompanied by her husband Niko on bass.

Her follow-up EP, On Second Thought, showcased her musical development: she added a Telecaster to her acoustic guitar, giving the music a rockier edge.

In her lyrics, the musician warmly and captivatingly recounts the turbulence of life and takes her listeners on an emotional rollercoaster ride that touches, entertains, and enchants.

In 2023, she released her latest album, Whatever happens, featuring rock and acoustic songs from the last decade.

Kati is currently working on her next album, on which she will also sing in Spanish and German, and is performing in Hamburg and the surrounding area (including Kulturladen St. Georg, Motte Ottensen, Grüner Jäger, Harms Point, Brückenstern, as well as at vernissages and as a street musician).
